Welcome your newest recruit to the sales team or reward the whole crew for beating last year’s numbers with packs that perform as hard as they do. Go beyond the typical attaché. We’ve explored the best-loved bag brands in the marketplace and collected the best options that get rave reviews from folks who know well-made products inside and out.

We asked Threadfellows’ head buyer Sean Johnson to share his favorites and why they get high marks for style, storage, durability, and function. Sean’s mission at Threadfellows is to explore the market for the best options in branded business apparel and accessories and curate a remarkable collection customers will love. These are five of Sean’s top pack picks. Chances are, at least one will be the perfect fit for your power performers.

Johnson said, “We just introduced Osprey packs recently, and they’re already getting attention for their pop of color, style, and performance.” Osprey’s technical packs are ideal for hiking, travel and urban adventures of all kinds. The brand creates innovative, high-performance gear that reflects their love of uncharted adventure and the outdoor experience. “Many of our customers have teams of road warriors who spend their weeks traveling to visit clients and their weekends on the trail,” said Johnson. “Osprey performs equally well on planes, trains or automobiles, as well as mud, rain, and sleet.”

OSPREY FLAPJACK PACK

The Osprey FlapJack Pack holds essentials in a stylish daypack. The mesh shoulder harness provides comfort and the mesh covered foam back panel allows airflow. The webbing hip belt is removable to adjust to the load, whether you’re dashing for a flight or climbing a mountain. A single buckle flap accesses the main compartment where electronics can be safely stored inside laptop and tablet sleeves. The outside of the pack features pockets galore, so everything from water bottles to boarding passes stays in place. At $110 including your corporate logo, the Osprey Flapjack Pack delivers long-term performance well worth the money.

PATAGONIA REFUGIO PACK

Johnson also likes the Patagonia Refugio Pack. “At $89 including your embroidered company logo, the Refugio is a solid value with a strong, lightweight body and base made with 100% recycled polyester with a Durable Water Repellant finish.” Ideal for urban adventurers, Patagonia’s Refugio Pack is the utility vehicle of backpacks. “It’s comfortable as a hiking backpack but with corporate practicality,” said Johnson. The Refugio has plenty of options for electronics and supplies, along with a secure lanyard for keys; padded laptop pocket that’s raised off the ground to protect more 15” laptops.

PATAGONIA ARBOR PACK

“For those needing more room, the Patagonia Arbor Pack offers a fashionable, efficient design and useful features and still comes in under $100 including your brand logo,” said Johnson. “This pack is larger and sleeker than the Refugio with a generous main compartment, padded shoulder straps and a top-mounted haul handle for easy toting.” Like all the bags Johnson’s recommending for corporate use, the Patagonia Arbor Pack has a padded laptop sleeve which fits most standard laptops.

DRI DUCK CANVAS MESSENGER BAG

Backpacks aren’t for everyone. Johnson has a messenger bag in mind that you’ll love. “If your staff is full of hipsters versus hikers, consider DRI DUCK’s Canvas Messenger Bag,” recommended Johnson. The DRI DUCK Messenger is a rock-solid value at just $59 including your logo. It will keep you organized with easy-access pockets both inside and outside. In addition to the messenger flap, this bag features a zip-top security closure and looped snap closure to secure the flap, as well as padded laptop sleeve which fits up to a 17” laptop.” The field khaki canvas fabric is easy-care and goes with everything and easily dresses up or down.

FJÄLLRÄVEN RUCKSACK

For a fashion-forward pick with an eco-friendly edge that both men and women on your team will rave about, Fjällräven offers the Fjällräven Rucksack, a medium-sized backpack in trend-right colors detailed in natural tone leather. Johnson said, “Customers with an eye for design love Fjällräven which is great for both everyday use in town or on the trail. It’s definitely more of a fashion accessory than some other options. At $180, it’s more expensive, too, but worth every penny, since it goes with everything and will last for years. The main compartment is loaded from the top and includes an inner pocket with a padded bottom to hold a 17” laptop. Environmentally conscious folks also love that the backpack’s fabric is infused with Greenland Wax for eco-friendly wind and water resistance.” And just to prove they’ve thought of everything, the Rucksack includes a fleece-lined pocket for your mobile phone or sunglasses.
